When Coronation Street bosses wanted Corrie favourites
Karen and Steve to eventually tie the knot, they had no hesitation in
turning to top North West couture designer Yvonne Gillon to come up with
a special creation for that special day. So Yvonne designed and created
the wedding dress that Suranne as Karen eventually wore. Suranne Jones
went down to Yvonne's couture design studio in Marple, Stockport for a
series of exclusive fittings, the dress was designed cut, sewn and
finished in the North West - the home of 'Corrie'. Needless to say,
Karen looked fantastic on her fictional 'big day'!
Yvonne's Cheshire studio is open Monday to Saturday 9-5. They specialise
in made to measure outfits for mother of the bride and groom, along with
contemporary bridal wear, evening wear alongside a ready to wear
collection.
They

Although she's made Bridal Wear over the years, Yvonne Gillon

given the Yvonne Gillon 'brand' an outstanding reputation within the

Over the last few years since leaving the Street, Suranne has been seen
in a string of original and successful TV drama projects outside of the
North West but has recently returned to her roots in Manchester's
Granada-land. Suranne originally hailing from Chadderton in Manchester
has recently been seen in 2011 on ITV alongside Lesley Sharpe in a
new crime drama series Scott & Bailey. She played DCI Rachael Bailey, one

devised from an original idea by Suranne and fellow former Corrie
