We are now in a world of reality weddings and although
there had been others on a smaller scale, Katie Price really started the
ball rolling back in 2005 when she married Ozzy singer Peter Andre. She
tied the knot in what was seen at the time as the "Princess Wedding" and
since then the whole concept of TV and Celebrity weddings has just
snowballed out of all proportion and now quite literally anything goes.
Consequently there's now an ever growing list of wedding shows available for you to
watch and be jaw dropping lily amazed at on your television, three of
the most riveting current British based shows on TV are:-
Don't Tell The Bride - (BBC TV) - The show's
format consists of a couple who are given £12,000 to spend on their
wedding but they must spend three weeks apart without contact and the
bridegroom must organise every aspect of the event and attire including
the wedding dress, as well as the hen and stag parties, surprising the
bride - (latest series now finished but it is still available to watch
here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00d7mtr/clips).
Four Weddings - (SKY Living TV) - This show is a
programme shown on the UK channel, Sky Living. The first series was
aired in 2009 with a second series in 2010 and a third in 2011. It
follows a similar style as Come Dine With Me and involves four
brides/grooms attending each other's weddings and rating them on:
Dress (out of 25)
Venue (out of 25)
Food (out of 25)
Experience (out of 25)
At the end of the show they discover which of the couples has won a
luxury honeymoon - (next show 1st January).
Celebrity Wedding Planner - (Channel 5 TV) - In a
twist on BBC Three's Don't Tell The Bride, Channel 5 has enlisted the
likes of reality TV stars Kerry Katona and Jedward and unleashed them to
plan some weddings.
While I may feel confident about Victoria Beckham planning my nuptials,
I'm not so sure about some of the other names in Celebrity Wedding
Planner, Channel 5's show - (Started 6th January).
Other wedding based shows available are:- Double Wedding,
Wedding Daze and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
